Mission
Our Mission is advocating for juvenile justice by educating, assist in litigation, promoting juvenile justice legislation, and raising public awareness about juvenile issues.
Vision
Our vision is a state where juveniles receive fair and accurate sentencing, education resources offered to them, and holding the parole board accountable for accurate parole reviews.
Accomplishments
The Iowa Coalition 4 Juvenile Justice has been successful in legislatively passing a law that juveniles under the age of 18 are not to be sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole. We have been successful in changing juvenile sentences. To date fourteen Iowa juveniles have been released by the Iowa Parole Board under the new law.
The Iowa Coalition 4 Juvenile Justice is a focus group of the Iowa chapter of CURE.
